INFORMATION ABOUT Sardinia

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean and is located 120 miles southwest of Italy's mainland. Its seaside landscape on the Costa Smeralda is among the most beautiful in the world with its rocky, jagged coast interspersed with marvelous beaches of very fine sand and countless inlets. Sardinia offers bed and breakfast travelers many opportunities for hiking, biking and all kinds of water sports, but it is also home to countless prehistoric remains and monuments, such as the megalithic Tombs of the Giants or the excavations at Tharros. Other Sardinian attractions include the National Archaeologic Museum of Cagliari and the cork-oak woods at the foot of the Gennargentu.
