INFORMATION ABOUT HANMER SPRINGS

The alpine village of Hanmer Springs, situated half-way between the West and the East of the Southern Island of New Zealand and only 1 1/2 hours from the city of Christchurch, is a popular holiday destination and was rated one of New Zealand's Top 3 Tourist Attractions. Its thermal pools and spa are a major attraction, but it also boasts numerous other activities such as jet boating on the Waiau River, horse trekking, mountain biking, or bungy from the historic bridge. Hanmer Springs is also surrounded by forests offering over 50km of walking and mountain bike tracks. The seasons bring amazing colors, particularly in autumn and spring, while in winter Hanmer Springs takes advantage of its proximity to Hanmer Springs Ski Area and Mt. Lyford Ski Area.
